MultiDisciplinary
Anterior Cruciate Ligaments
By Alexis Jenkins

Alexis Jenkins definitely is very active from the start. Sports have always been her passion; growing up, you could always catch her outside at the softball field playing with her high school, tournament team, or family. This all was until she had an almost career-ending injury occur not just once but twice. Luckily, she could continue to play two years of college softball, but she always wondered why tearing your ACL, also known as your Anterior Cruciate Ligament, was such a big deal. Now years later, she is a Senior here at Millersville studying Sports Journalism. After graduation, she plans to work her way into the ESPN world to eventually become an ESPN Broadcast Journalist.

Anaya Darr is a sophomore majoring in English with a concentration in Writing Studies. She has been involved with the Writing Center for a year now and became a student manager last fall. Because of her interest in writing, helping fellow students with their writing assignments is something she is passionate about. She enjoys the atmosphere that the Writing Center has and has made some of her best friends there. She wants students to know that they are welcome to come to the center for any writing troubles they face. After she graduates, she hopes to pursue a job in the publishing industry.

Ariana Colella was driven to contribute to this project so that she could help bring attention to the Writing Center at Millersville. As a tutor and future educator, she thinks it's important to encourage people to come to the Writing Center so that they can get constructive feedback. As an avid writer, she loves her job and loves being able to show students the potential their work has. She is passionate about this project because she wants more people to know about the resources that they have readily available and provided to them by the university. Ariana wanted to really push the agenda of the Writing Center and prove that they are genuinely there for all students of all learning backgrounds and majors. The Writing Center was perfect for her due to her education major background. After she graduates, she plans on being an English teacher at the secondary level, where she will continue to read and grade papers but also teach students how to improve their writing on a daily basis.

Anna Jessel is a junior majoring in Secondary English Education with a minor in theatre. She has been working at the Writing Center since the spring semester of her freshman year and has been a student manager since last spring. Reading and writing have been lifelong passions for her, and she has loved sharing them with her Writing Center colleagues and students. She wants to ensure the environment is open and welcoming for every student interested in utilizing its resources and is excited to be speaking with interested students at the Made in Millersville conference.

Jayden Burnside is a junior studying Secondary English Education in addition to a minor in ESL Linguistics. After he graduates from Millersville, he plans to become a high school English teacher.
