Anterior Cruciate Ligaments

Alexis Jenkins definitely is very active from the start. Sports have always been her passion; growing up, you could always catch her outside at the softball field playing with her high school, tournament team, or family. This all was until she had an almost career-ending injury occur not just once but twice. Luckily, she could continue to play two years of college softball, but she always wondered why tearing your ACL, also known as your Anterior Cruciate Ligament, was such a big deal. Now years later, she is a Senior here at Millersville studying Sports Journalism. After graduation, she plans to work her way into the ESPN world to eventually become an ESPN Broadcast Journalist.

Kelsey Good is a sophomore Middle-Level Education undergraduate student at Millersville University with a concentration in English and Language Arts. Kelsey is also pursuing a minor in Music, and is actively involved in the Millersville University Marching Band as well as the Millersville University Concert Band. The piece published in this journal falls under the genre of Literature of Witness, and Kelsey has a special interest in this form of writing. Kelsey discovered this genre of literature through working with Dr. Jakubiak, and was thrilled to present at Made in Millersville. Her piece titled “I Was Only Seventeen,” is about her experience as a healthcare worker in a retirement community during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
